We are knee deep in election brochures, heated discussions on important issues, and plain old mudslinging. Our country has many pressing issues before us and we need to be as good consumers of words as we are the products we clean our homes with and what we put in our bodies. But being average Americans we often say “Tsk, tsk, that’s so sad” and then return to our cornflakes. This year I urge you to read the brochures concerning the different office seekers and propositions, see who is providing the funding, and to take all the rhetoric with many grains of salt. After all, how we vote now will impact those we love the most — ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.
