The speaker for our July 20, 2021, meeting will be Dale Morgan, a Criminal Investigator with the Santa Clara District Attorney’s office. His law enforcement career has spanned over 41 years, beginning with the San Jose Police Department and now with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office. Dale obtained his BA from St. Mary’s College in California. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico. He is currently assigned to the Elder Financial Crimes Unit. Dale spent 11 years as a financial crime investigator with 5 years in the Urban Auto Insurance Fraud Task Force (Organized Insurance Crime)-Silicon Valley Branch. He is currently an elder fraud financial crimes investigator.
Dale’s presentation will discuss the following question: What are the major frauds targeting the elderly in our community and country as a whole? These scams include a wide variety of topics, such as: Romance, Hello Grandma, Law Enforcement, IRS, Social Security, Lottery (advanced fee scams), Business Email, Tech Support, Gift Cards, Covid-19, Family, Work from Home, Contractors, Care Givers.
